Rear Window suspense and meaning:
Rear Windows-1954
Rear Windows-1954
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock

Tension 1. we know the killer is coming. Jeff does. Lisa doesn't. 2. Jeff is helpless he can't move. Audience cant help- we know Jeff cant move. 3. We know help is on the way. Are they going to get there in time? 4. Editing shows us the emotion of Jeff and Stella- the danger is real. 5.We know there's a strong struggle- Is he going to kill her? 6. The killer knows that he is being watched. What will he do next?
Suspense- giving information 1. Character and 2. Audience
Uncertainty is what creates tension.
the first clip shows that Jeff is staring at different people and a couple. some people are in their homes talking and relaxing some are trying to get a tan and the couple recently wed have moved into their new house and the groom is trying to please his wife by carrying her through the door into their new home. It shows to me that Jeff loves Lisa and Stella is trying to tell you that she thinks that he should marry her but it also looks like he is not that ready or interested as he is in a wheelchair and wont be there for her when she needs him as he must stay in his house and would have to wait for Lisa to come so they can be together. their relationship is a bit weird as he is in a wheel chair and she is trying to support him.
